Animated comical series discussing the application of Islamic concepts in modern society.
We see around us a society which has made the dunia its ‘qibla’. Both work and education aim to make progress on a worldly level, rather than for what’s worth much, much more.
“And the life of this world is nothing but a sport and a play; and as for the next abode, that most surely is the life” -The Holy Qur’an 29:64
Have we become so busy living the 9-5 lifestyle that we are afraid of breaking out of the box of mundane life? Why are we afraid to step out and explore new realms? Is the life of this world truly worth living in a cage for?
This world with all its murkiness has entangled many of us in its unfruitful production line. The dunia, like the sea only makes us thirstier the more we drink and yet people have become so obsessed with gaining more and more on a material level, they have forgotten to look at the hereafter.
It\\\'s like the famous children\\\'s story from Aesop\\\'s fables: In a field one summer\\\'s day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart\\\'s content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
\\\"\\\"Why not come and chat with me,\\\"\\\" said the Grasshopper, \\\"\\\"instead of toiling and moiling in that way?”
\\\"\\\"I am helping to lay up food for the winter,\\\"\\\" said the Ant, \\\"\\\"and recommend you to do the same.\\\"\\\"
\\\"\\\"Why bother about winter?\\\"\\\" said the Grasshopper; \\\"\\\"We have got plenty of food at present.\\\"\\\" But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.
When the winter came the Grasshopper had no food and found itself dying of hunger - while it saw the ants distributing every day corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer. Then the Grasshopper knew: It is best to prepare for days of need.
In this episode, we discuss how a Muslim must be just like the ant: working hard and preparing for what comes next, regardless of what the grasshoppers of our society might think.
